CENTRAL GOVERNMENT AGREES TO SCRAP HYDEL PROJECTS ON GANGA IN UTTARKHAND
The 78 years old Environmentalist Sri.GD Agarwal,former professor of IIT,on 24th August, 2010, broke his 36-day fast.He was offered juice by Union Environment Minister, mr.Jairam ramesh handed over the letter scrapping all the Hydel Projects on the ganga river in Utterkhand.minister informed that the Union government had accepted all the demands of the environmentalist. The letter says that they agreed to include Mr.Agarwal and five others, whose names would be recommended by the environmentalists, as non-official members of the National ganga River basin Authority(NGBRA).

ACTIVITIES OF CRDES
IN 2002
3 Leactures are arranged on "Water Elixir of Life" and effects of Air pollution at Sadasivpet Schools and Kendriya vidyalaya, uppal , hyderabad. Participated in Green Peace Programme on Bhopal Gas-Jatha second phase from December 31st December 2002 to 3rd Jan 2003.
In 2003
Leacture on Water Elixir of Life at Shri Aurobindo international school, hyderabad and participated in National Commission for Youth, Digital video conference conducted by American consulate and VSNL on the book 'The land that could be - Environmentalism and democracy in 21t Century'written by Mr.William Shutkin. Attended Synposium on water and sanitation for cities conducted by ASCI,Hyderabad. participated in Stake holder's workshop conducted by HyWaMISS.
In 2004
Conducted workshops for Teachers at sadasivpet mandal office and teachers at hyderabad
In 2005
Participated in Green Peace's rally at delhi and met the ministers. Attended stake holders meeting at ASCI and HyWaMISS and World water day celebrations and pollution Public hearing at sangareddy. Conducted survey the water supply position of drinking water to the polluted villages of patancheru mandal.
In 2006
Workshops conducted at manjeeera Degree College. Study tour to Mysore with Ethopian visitors about rural development activies at that area onducted by Sri.Balan.
In 2007
Solid waste Management programmes for farmers at cheriyal village, sangareddy mandal, for municipal councilars and students at sadasivpet municipal office, Personality development classes to marepally school students, farmers meet at gangaram village, Universal brothers day at cheriyal schools, farmers meet at sadasivpet and inaguration of Vermicompost plant at gangaram village.
In 2008
A vist to ICRISAT for gangaram and cheriyal farmers. Teachers work shop at sadasivpet and farmers meet at gangaram village and Gandhiji'birthday celebrations at sadasivpet.
In 2009
Attended Lead India programme at mallikarjunapally and teachers meet at sangareddy.work shop for IITH students on Effects of Industrial Pollution of patamcheru. Arranged the week end programmes for IITH students to Indrakaran,Yeddumilram and yeddumilaram village ZPH School students.
In 2010
Organised Swami vivekananda's birth day programmes at Sadasivpet and OFPM Estate.
